Starting her career in one of the largest insurance companies in the world, Mindy has spent the last 14 years in the insurance industry. She has moved through the ranks of the industry from administration to management and finally to working with clients – the most important piece of the business. This rare experience has taught her many facets of the business and gives her a very unique perspective, one that understands how to break down the complexity of insurance products to layman’s terms and how to maximize the underwriting process to the clients’ best advantage. Lorraine Spector is back in Los Angeles after living in New York for many years. Previously, she sold information services to traders at large firms, hedge funds and the New York Stock Exchange. In her career, it has always been about building the relationship, finding the clients’ needs and finding the right solution. Lorraine also has significant experience recruiting fundraisers for non profit organizations. Through that experience, she has been involved with a number of non profits including Dress for Success, New York Cares, Women’s Shelters and Foster Care for Success. Following her recruiting days, Lorraine obtained her insurance license on the advice of a dear friend. In learning the business, she knew she wanted to work for a company that had their finger on the pulse of industry innovation and technology, and focused on helping people with products that are very important but not well understood. The Insurist was a great fit because we know that finding the right solutions can be overwhelming, and we work to educate and simplify the process for our clients.
LeiLani Sandstrom started her career in medical billing in 1999, learning the ins and outs of the delicate balance between carrier, provider and consumer. With this knowledge, she became a go to resource for her personal network for insurance questions and considerations throughout the years. Recent regulatory and legal changes in the insurance industry only amplified the need for such a resource and in 2013 LeiLani decided to take it to a professional level and get licensed. After spending time working with a large national carrier, she went looking for an independent agency that would allow her to choose the best products and carriers for her clients, allowing her to provide them with best solutions possible. She found The Insurist and made it her home. LeiLani is charged with the territory spanning Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties. She focuses on the insurance needs of new Parents and Grandparents, and the Food and Construction businesses that are the mainstay of her local communities.
A long time resident of Westlake Village, California, Sherry Heatherly has been a licensed Life and Health Insurance Agent since 1995. Her background is in individual plans specializing in benefit analysis for the Senior Retirement Market. Sherry maintains a wide up-to- date competitive product portfolio with over 19 top rated carriers for the State of California. This gives her the ability to act as a broker and shop for the lowest rates resulting in the highest benefit levels possible. Sherry’s strengths lie in breaking down complex plans into simple terms her clients can understand. She recently received her certification from the State of California and is now eligible to offer Covered California Health Insurance Exchange Plans. In 2005, Sherry founded Insurance Solutions 247 and in 2014 she joined forces with The Insurist.
